Covid 19 Update – 2.11.2021

Greetings FCC Family!

In light of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision and subsequent decisions by our District Court and county regarding indoor worship, Family Community Church is continuing to work on plans to regather together safely indoors soon. In the meantime, we will be using our outdoor venues safely while still maintaining quality livestream options too! We appreciate your patience and faithfulness as this situation continues to develop.

Speaking of outdoors, have you been to our “10:45 Live & Outside” service on Sunday mornings yet? If not, see what it’s all about HERE, or check it out in person this Sunday in our parking lot at 10:45! The past couple weeks our church family has enjoyed the safe, intimate, and live worship experience outdoors, and we can’t wait to continue the fellowship this coming Sunday. Beginning February 21st, we will also add a Sunday 10:45 AM outdoor Children’s Ministries service while adults are worshipping in our parking lot tent.

Be looking for more FCC communications next week about other on-campus ministry options our team is working to introduce.  We will continue to provide livestream options for those at high risk or not yet wanting to return to on-campus meetings.

Your health and safety remain a high priority to FCC as we continue to develop and make available opportunities to Connect and grow in our relationships with Christ and each other.

We will continue to follow all County COVID protocols:

  1. Maintain social distance
  2. Masks required
  3. Please wash hands using the provided sanitizer

For more updates, continue to visit FCC’s website often.  (click here)

I look forward to seeing you on campus soon!  Remember…. This next Sunday…. We are Live & Outside at 10:45 AM…. And online every Sunday at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM.  Let’s celebrate and worship together!!!

Covid 19 Update – 10.07.2020

FCC’S ON-CAMPUS INDOOR & OUTDOOR SUNDAY SERVICES UPDATE!

Per the Health Department’s most recent guidelines INDOOR seating for religious services will now be ALLOWED in limited capacities. In addition to our existing livestream options here is what INDOOR services will look like for the various ministries:

  • Indoor services will begin on campus effective October 14 beginning with W5 and CR.
  • Youth will meet on campus beginning October 15 with limited seating for 100 people in Stage 3 plus overflow seating of 100 people in Studio FCC.
  • Sunday 9 AM and 10:45 AM services will resume indoors and outdoors on October 18.  Seating will be provided for 100 people in main auditorium + 100 people in Café Auditorium + 100 people in main lobby. Outdoor seating will also be available in the tent in our parking lot.
  • Children services for grades one through four will be held Sundays at 9 AM and 10:45 AM in Kidzplanet and grades five and six, which we call Area 56, will meet in the bounce house room, directly adjacent to the Children’s Ministry lobby. Kids will still be able to participate in the live Zoom feeds remotely for families that choose not to come on campus at this time.
  • Awana currently has 70 kids enrolled in online classes. We will not bring Awana classes on campus at this time. We are surveying the parents to see if on campus classes are desirable and will make a decision soon about possibly launching Awana on campus after hearing from parents and volunteer staff.

Your safety is our TOP PRIORITY as we continue to reopen. Masks and social distancing will be ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED in order to attend.

This is certainly exciting news as we look forward to more, in-person fellowship as a church family. With all of the continuing changes it is vital for us to keep you updated with the latest information via email. If you’re not currently receiving emails from FCC, sign up now.

Covid 19 Update – 06.18.2020

REOPEN FCC PLAN

Our pastors and staff want you to know that we love you, we miss you, and we’re looking forward to all worshiping together as a family again soon.
FCC has set up our tent canopy in our parking lot and prepared our courtyard and other areas of our campus for MULTIPLE outdoor gatherings in groups of 25, per the current Health Department order.

Last week FCC met on campus for the first time since March 8. It was exciting to see the faces of happy people, thrilled to worship together, albeit, at a safe distance! Our church family warmly welcomed FCC’s new worship pastor, Sierra Reed, and her family.

FCC is going to do all we can, while using great care for your safety, to make on campus small group meetings and other venues available to you immediately. Last night our W5 Women’s Bible Study group and Celebrate Recovery groups met on campus outdoors in our Courtyard and tent and simultaneously online by livestream. Mvment Youth meets on our campus tonight. Encounter’s EFam Leadership Team meets on campus Friday night. Other venues will meet on campus in the coming days. For details, click here.

THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 21, we will accommodate Sunday morning 9 AM & 10:45 AM MULTIPLE gatherings of 25 in the shade on our campus. We’ll use our tent and courtyard between the 474 & 478 buildings.

Pre-registration is PREFERRED for Sunday services so we can practice safe protocols. Please…REGISTER YOUR HOUSEHOLD! If you do NOT register in advance, you are welcome to attend, but your preregistration helps us provide seating areas for you in advance, which is best.

Simulcast feeds will be viewed on TVs outdoors where you can worship together with others. FCC pastors will host these gatherings. Those in same household can sit together, leaving 6 feet between others not in your household. Masks must be worn. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Please park on the WEST side of campus (where the office condos are) by the Main Lobby Entrance canopy where the tent is, or by the Courtyard between building 474 and 478.

It will be quite warm this coming Sunday, so please dress cool and bring water. You will be sitting in the shade, but especially the 10:45 AM service could experience the heat of forecast 90-degree temperatures.

1. More details We take this virus seriously and will encourage masks, hand washing, and social distancing for all campus gatherings. We will respect those who are not comfortable returning yet to on campus church services and encourage those who do return to on campus services to follow safety protocols recommended by CDC and Santa Clara County Health Officer.

For the foreseeable future, all FCC services, classes, and other venues that have been livestreamed the past 3 months will continue. So, you truly have options! You can stay home and participate in FCC services online or come celebrate worship together outdoors on campus with others in your FCC Family.

2. Who we encourage NOT to attend on campus initially, for the first few weeks. People feeling ill, or that have a temperature over 100.4 degrees, that have health complications (diabetes, COPD, cancer, compromised immune system, etc.), are over age 65, and children 6th grade and below.

All kids programs will continue online by livestream and Zoom call, so it is best for kids 6th grade and younger to stay home when we initially reopen. No kids programs will be provided on campus until further notice. If you have children and would like to attend church as a family, you’ll be seated together. Please keep your kids with you and under your control at all times. NOTE: You may sit together with anyone in the household you live in, kids or no kids. But, please leave 6 feet between you and anyone seated next to you that is not in your household.

3. We have been making plans to greet you on campus in a safe and welcoming manner!

If people need a mask FCC will provide one free.
– Hand sanitizer will be available.
– Soap dispensers will be full in all bathrooms.
– Signs will be posted on how to stop the spread of COVID-19.
– Touchless thermometers were purchased. FCC’s Security Team will take temperature of all staff/volunteers before services and anyone entering our building to use restrooms.

We will have trained volunteers or staff on site to disinfect, wipe down surfaces during and after service and clean restrooms. To volunteer click here.

Pastor Bill and Pastor Michelle will be responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns. If you hear of any FCC person that tests positive or becomes ill that attended an FCC service in the past 30 days…. please notify Pastor Bill or Pastor Michelle IMMEDIATELY. Your safety, and the safety of our community is important to your church.

More to come as continue to love God and love people! Keep checking your email inbox and FCC’s Facebook page for updates!

I love you so very much,

Pastor Bill

Covid 19 Update – 06.11.2020

REOPEN FCC PLAN

Our recent poll showed that 55% of our congregation will return the first opportunity they have. 18% will be waiting for several additional weeks. 17% are enjoying the livestream option and will choose that option to participate in FCC’s services for now. 10% think it will be awhile before they attend on campus services. No matter what percentage you fall into, know that we love you, we miss you, and we’re looking forward to all worshipping together as a family again soon.

Covid 19 Update – 05.22.2020

FCC Update And Plans To Reopen On-Campus Meetings
(as of May 22, 2020)

With all the information (see links below) that has been hitting the news outlets on TV and the internet, it is quite possible that people will assume we are resuming on-campus services this Sunday. However, we are NOT meeting until we can do so safely, with a plan in place, to protect our people using social distancing and other protocols to mitigate virus spread.

So, in light of recent events (Attorney General Barr sent a letter to Governor Newsom saying current treatment of churches in California regarding reopening is discriminatory and illegal + President Trump and the CDC today declared churches should reopen this Sunday)….. FCC will NOT open THIS weekend (May 24). But…..FCC’s staff will meet by virtual Zoom call this week to discuss plans for possibly reopening on-campus meetings, beginning Sunday, May 31.

https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/2020/may/trump-church-reopening-essential-religious-freedom.html

https://news.yahoo.com/u-department-justice-warns-california-030212870.html

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/faith-based.html

Our staff has been discussing reopening plans and protocols for the past 4 weeks and have also shared our ideas with Santa Clara County officials. We have detailed plans and strategies that will allow for both on-campus and livestream Sunday service options for our FCC church family.

Be watching your inbox for updates next week for more updates about when and how FCC will reopen and begin on-campus meetings for Sunday services and other meetings to encourage all who attend and provide much needed hope to our community.

Covid 19 Update – 05.15.2020

FCC Update And Plans To Reopen On-Campus Meetings

Melody and I and our entire FCC staff are looking forward to the day we begin meeting again with our church family on campus! Hopefully, that will be soon. While we prepare to reopen in Phase 3 of the Shelter in Place Order, our staff has been collaborating virtually to strategize our facility set-up, protocols, and sanitation procedures.

In the meantime, I’d like to update you on the some of the things we’ve been doing during the shelter in place season to get ready for on campus meetings.

We have been working feverishly to do a deep clean of our entire campus. Facilities team members have been going room by room, from ceilings to floors, and cleaning every nook and cranny. Carpets have been shampooed and repairs have been undertaken as needed.

Our staff has developed protocols for each department and each area of our campus. These will address things like non-touch check-in procedures in Children’s ministries, sanitization of rooms and equipment before and after each service in all ministries, closing water fountains, and setting up rooms for social distancing measures.

5,000 masks have been ordered so that anyone attending services that wants/needs a mask can have one. 8 commercial hand sanitizer dispensers will be placed strategically in our campus and smaller hand sanitizer dispensers will be located in most classrooms and ministry areas. Our HVAC system is being adjusted so that maximum outside air will be added into our ventilation system to keep the air we breathe extra clean and fresh.

The list of preparation goes on and on. We have a plan and protocols ready to reopen our campus in a safe and flexible way that maximizes ministry while protecting our congregation and community as we begin to enjoy much overdue times of worship and prayer together.

In the meantime, we will continue to offer multiple livestream options to keep you connected to God and each other and keep you growing in your spiritual walk with Christ. CLICK HERE

I commend our staff for their creativity and commitment to provide ministry with excellence for our FCC family during these times. It takes more effort and dreaming outside the box to do all that our team is doing, and I am most grateful for them, as I am sure you are too.
• One example is the She Is Sister Tea Pastor Lily and her team pulled off a few days ago.
• Another example is the livestream Sunday kids programming provided by Pastor Colton and Pastor Rebecca (parents must pre-register their kids to participate by Zoom).

Stay connected to the many FCC online options each week that will recharge your spiritual batteries and encourage you. CLICK HERE I look forward to seeing you online this Sunday! For your convenience, here’s the link to view our Sunday morning services. CLICK HERE

Covid 19 Update – 03.20.2020

Greetings, FCC Church family!

I am excited to preach to you this Sunday for the first time ever…. while being under the rules of “shelter in place” that we’re navigating in The Bay Area! I’m excited because I get to point us all to God’s perspective and power for us… as we face these challenging days head on.

Join us for our livestream worship services THIS Sunday at 9 AM or 10:45 AM and download your sermon notesheet online before the service starts. Click here

Our staff has had multiple conference calls recently and used new tools to strategize ways to keep you connected to Christ and other brothers and sisters in our FCC family. You can find these by a new page on our website called STAY CONNECTED. Click here.

The mission of our church is relevant before, during, and after COVID-19.
How we do the mission God has entrusted to us is different – but not less life-impacting. What we are doing as a church matters more than ever before! Operations, programs, outreach – we are doing all of these things using different tools, but they are still vital and still ongoing.
Your involvement is still vital too!

1. Pray – specifically and often.
2. Promote – volunteer (as possible), encourage, invite, lend your credibility by inviting others to join our online services and venues.
3. Provide – as you are able, support financially FCC’s mission and the people we serve.

Finally, Family Community Church was proud to be one of the three churches from Silicon Valley asked to stand with Mayor Sam Liccardo on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at his press conference, as he announced a new effort, led by San Jose and Silicon Valley community and business leaders, to offer monetary relief, mobilize volunteers, and connect residents to resources. The City is also developing a Countywide food distribution plan in partnership with Santa Clara County, non-profits and private sector. All those wishing to donate, volunteer or in need of resources are encouraged to visit www.SiliconValleyStrong.org.

Let’s love God and love people in our Silicon Valley community in Jesus’ name!

Pastor Bill
